Lists with This Book. To me this was so much more then just a romance story, Marsha Canham writing is wonderful! I couldn’t keep up with so many characters and names and places, and for most of the book there was This is a really difficult book for me to rate Song of Ice and Fire: Eventually found Pride of Lions and also purchased the original versions at one of favourite 2nd hand bookstores the Paperback Exchange as well as the revised editions published by Dell.
Ot story is part two of Alexander and Catherine’s story.

I enjoyed the stories of romance and intrigue that were woven throughout as well, but sometimes it felt as though they were not “woven” enough. The author did an excellent job of capturing the pain, death, and senseless loss of war. This was a wonderful romance, with substance and an adventure with authentic facts and real stories and accounts from history.
I can be dramatic.

As good or better than the first book, Pride of Lions which should definately be read glood. Not a happy way to end the book. Actually, what would have made PoL a real winner for me is if Canham combined the two and got rid of all the excess.

I love Highlander books, I think because I find them so romantic, and they touch a special place in my heart. Catherine Ashbrooke Cameron rosea committed the unpardonable sin of falling in love with her husband — a Scottish spy she married in her English home.

The Highlander’s Warrior Bride. I’m just not into continuous stories. Please review your cart. After the battle when Deirdre finds her husband Aluinn, I didn’t just cry I wept. There are some references to material in the previous book, but rather I read and rather enjoyed several Canham books, but compared to her other books that I have read, this rosss was very disappointing.

Blood of Roses by Marsha CanhamPaperback. The book marshs around the Jacobite uprising and most specifically the Battle of Culloden, which takes place near the town of Inverness, Scotland in between England and Scotland, two countries torn apart by pride and war.
Now, on to a more objective commentary: The last in the trilogy, more loosely related than the others, tells of a lass who is a Highland patriot and her Campbell husband whose clan sides with the English. Not that it matters now, anyway, but this was one of those rare preposterous moments when I had allowed myself to turn into a nit-picking bookworm and rant at a long-departed someone.
Among the many intriguing coincidences that occurred during the three years it took to write the two novels was the fact bloid the Battle of Culloden was fought on April 16,negotiations for The Pride of Lions were begun by her publisher on April 16,and the final words of The Blood of Roses were written on April 16, A Game of Thrones Set: They finally get together and all they do is have sex.
I had read about pages when I realized this was a sequel but continued reading anyway. I was compelled through this book and my heart broke with the fall of Shadow and all of Scotland.
I also enjoyed the twists in the story that I didn’t see coming. Say rosse to Struan. This is a must read for any serious Scottish historical romance reader!
