The hopes of the Drenai are with one man – Waylander – the traitor Druss is, of course, head and shoulders above everyone else, but Sieben is particularly likeable here as is his developing relationship with Niobeand the characters of Gargan, Talisman, Nosta Khan, Kzun and Klay are all well drawn and interesting to read about. The only problem that I had with this book was that it seemed a bit of a re-hash of Gemmell’s earlier works and was perhaps done more for the revenue deathwalket could bring in than the value it deahtwalker bring to the Drenai series and the deathwlker.
